ProCollagen RF Resurfacing

WHAT IT IS

Our ProCollagen RF Resurfacing using Skinfinity RF is a non-surgical, fractional ablative radiofrequency (RF) device used for skin resurfacing, tightening, and rejuvenation. This non-surgical, fractional ablative radiofrequency (RF) was developed by Eclipse (and associated with Alma). It targets cosmetic concerns by blending deep thermal heating with microscopic surface ablation.

HOW IT WORKS

The Skinfinity RF works by creating microscopic thermal injuries through the use of Directed Radiofrequency Ablation (DRFA).  DFRA is a technology that uses a fractionated Radio Frequency energy which only affects treatment areas while leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. Previous technologies deployed laser energy to burn off the entire top layer of skin which resulted in extended downtime and several weeks of healing. The risks of complications were much greater. This advancement in Radio Frequency energy delivery (DFRA) allows for rapid healing with dramatic results for patients of all skin types.  The results observed are similar to the Fractional CO2 laser, however, unlike lasers, there are no target chromophores (pigment producers).  This makes it safe for all skin types with a much lower risk of complications compared to light-based ablative treatments.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What to expect during your treatments: Skinfinity RF can feel slightly warm to hot depending on the treatment level.  Any discomfort is greatly reduced by topical anesthetic. Overall the treatment is very tolerable.

What to expect after treatment:  Afterward a tingling/stinging sensation can be expected, like a bad sunburn feels.  The skin will be slightly pink to bright red, depending on the treatment level selected.  Redness and even some swelling is normal for 24-48 hours or slightly longer.  Then the skin will start to heal by sloughing off resurfaced skin.  This is complete by 5-7 days.
